3 Pubs, 3X the Fun in Downtown on St. Patrick's Day

Throw on your best green duds and head to Downtown Long Beach in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. On March 17, the Downtown will be full of Irish spirit as everyone celebrates the annual feast day in honor of Ireland’s patron saint.

If you’re interested in a pub crawl that hits all three of the major pubs in Long Beach and ends at the historic Queen Mary, then catch the English style double decker bus and be a part of the timeless tradition of celebrating this Irish holiday. The iconic bus will cart guests to the Auld Dubliner, Gallagher’s and Limerick’s, and finish the evening off at the Observation Bar aboard the royal ocean liner. Special guest Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, a star of the MTV hit series Jackass, will be there to get the party started on the VIP bus. For more information, please visit www.queenmary.com.

If you want to celebrate St. Paddy’s day in a more stationary way, then plant yourself at any one of the three Irish pubs in Downtown Long Beach. Clancy’s, located at 830 E. Broadway, will be featuring traditional corned beef and cabbage and plenty of Irish beer, as you soak up the sounds of authentic bag pipers.

The Auld Dubliner, situated at 71 S. Pine Avenue in The Pike at Rainbow Harbor, will be in party-mode all day long. They are offering breakfast fare from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., at which time an Irish menu will kick into high gear. From 1 – 5 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. – 1:30 a.m., Patty’s Pigs will entertain guests with lively Irish jigs.

You will also want to visit Shannon’s at 209 Pine Avenue. Shannon’s opens at 11 a.m. to celebrate the day with its annual free corned beef & cabbage feast. This scrumptious buffet begins officially at noon and is prepared by jolly leprechauns using premium beef, fresh cooked cabbage, potatoes and carrots accompanied by rye bread, creamed horseradish and whole-grain mustard. Throughout the day, don’t miss the many giveaways and the plentiful Guinness and Harp on tap, along with eight more draft beers and more than a dozen bottled beers. Shannon’s is offering extra special Irish options including Jameson Shots and their own Irish Coffee Shot with Jameson Irish Whiskey and chilled coffee liqueur. And don't forget to take advantage of our Passport to Savings program! Click here to see what Shannon's on Pine is offering.

This year on St. Patrick’s Day, you’ll find fun and merriment with every pint in Downtown Long Beach.  And don’t forget, there are many public transportation options available in the Downtown after you’ve been celebrating!  To view these options in an interactive map, please click here.
