Clean Team Employee of the Quarter: Maribel Romero

Maribel Romero was recognized by the DLBA and OneSource as Employee of the Quarter for the 4th Quarter 2007. Romero is honored for her outstanding performance, hard work and dedication in the workplace. She has been a member of the Clean Team for one year. As a full time sweeper, Romero works several different routes during the week which include Pine Avenue and the East Village areas.

Romero received a Certificate of Recognition from both the DLBA and OneSource along with a $100 gift certificate from a Downtown business of her choice. Romero’s photo will be on display and her name will be part of a perpetual plaque at the DLBA Operations Office. “We are very proud of Maribel and pleased with her great service to the Downtown community,” said Mary Coburn, Operations Manager. “We’re fortunate to have her on our team!”

Guide Employee of the Quarter: Chris Sands

Chris Sands was recognized by the DLBA and Block-by-Block as the Guide of the Quarter for the 4th Quarter 2007. Along with a great attendance record, Sands goes out of his way to assist his team members, DLBA stakeholders and visitors to Downtown. Sands has been with the Guide Program since July of 2007 and works on foot and bike patrol.

Sands received a Certificate of Recognition from both the DLBA and Block-by-Block along with a $100 gift certificate from a Downtown business of his choice. Sands’ photo will also be on display and his name will be part of a perpetual plaque at the DLBA Operations Office. “Chris is a tremendous asset to our Guide team, and we’re pleased to present him with this award,” said Coburn.

The DLBA congratulates both of these employees for their significant contribution to Downtown Long Beach.
