Blurring the line sport and stunt, talented motocross professionals and motorcyclists will paint the DTLB sky with high-flying tricks in honor of the Downtown Long Beach Associate (DLBA)’s 15th annual Thunder Thursday spectacular.
Taking place April 16 on Pine Avenue at Broadway, the annual rubber-burning celebration acts as a segue into the city’s largest event, the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach (TGPLB), set to bring over 150,000 race fans to the organization’s Shoreline race track. Thunder Thursday, always free and in partnership with the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach, is the perfect way to get celebrate all things motorized.
Of course, the event is not relegated to tricks alone. Motorheads will be able to revel in the knowledge, skill, and speed required to be part of a pit crew in the Pit Stop Competition while families and singles alike can witness the crowning of this year’s Miss TGPLB.

The DLBA has once again partnered with the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach to sponsor and produce the 15th Annual Thunder Thursday which kicks off the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The 41st Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will take place April 17-19, 2015. The 2015 Grand Prix features the Verizon IndyCar Series, with Turbocharged cars and stars like Scott Dixon, Will Power, Helio Castroneves, Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti and Juan Pablo Montoya charge through the city streets hitting 185 mph on Shoreline Drive!
