SPECIAL WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH PERFORMANCES @ THE FOUND THEATRE IN MARCH
The Found will celebrate Women's History Month on three Saturdays in March, highlighting women poets, comedians, and musicians. The month kicks off with an evening of poetry featuring Long Beach's unofficial poetess laureate Mindy Nettifee (thecultofmindy.com) with June Melby. This will be Nettifee's only performance in March as she prepares to put out a new book. Melby will be flying in from Iowa for the event, which will be her only West Coast appearance this trip. She has been blowing away audiences at festivals across the U.S. and Europe for over a decade. If you see only one poetry show this month, this is the one to see. Promises Nettifee, "There will be poetry, Casio keyboard jams, moody guitars and, if June has her way, some accordion music." Special guests Derrick Brown and Rick Lupert will also be on hand.
